I've been quite busy the past week and a half, moving house and doing work experience, which is why there have been no updates - but now everything is back to normal and the site will be updated regularly!
Rock Musician Files Lawsuit over Dog's Mysterious Death!
The drummer for the rock band My Chemical Romance is suing a dog trainer after the musician's beloved German shepherd mix died in the trainer's care – and was returned in the form of cremated remains, according to court papers.
In a bizarre lawsuit filed in Burbank Superior Court, Bob Bryar alleges breach of contract, fraud, negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress against Daniel Schaffer, described in the action as the self-proclaimed "dog trainer to the stars."
"I don't even know what happened to my best friend and miss her more than anything in the world," Bryar tells PEOPLE. "The devastation I feel is beyond words." READ MORE AT PEOPLE.COM

Sorry for the lack of updates, but it actually is a good thing, because we've been crazy busy. I think we are almost finished with the greatest song we've ever written. Its coming along incredibly (is that even a word?) and I think it will be the standard for every other track on the record. In a way, this is really helpful, because now we can make each song the best it can be, in a sense taking each song as its own entity and reaching for the stars with each track. Weekend off, so getting some much needed rest and thinking about how to make what we have even better. You guys are in for a treat...

Someone has kindly written up a short interview that Frank Iero did with Fangoria magazine for their 30th Birthday issue. Unfortunately there aren't any images but heres what he said:
Since before I can remember, I knew my future was to play music in a band, My dad played music, my grandfather played music and I knew that one day, I would follow in their footsteps - especially if my career as a special FX artist were to fall through. I remember when I was a young kid visiting my dad on the weekends, we would regularly have to stop at the Wawa convenience store, and in addition to my dad picking up milk, cigarettes and the occasional apple pie, I would ask for a pack of baseball cards. This request ended teh day I stumbled upon the magazine rack and found FANGORIA.
Fuck baseball, I wanted to read about the new Nightmare on Elm Street coming! I mean, seriously, the dream master could kick the shit out of Don Mattingly any day. I was hooked. I knew there was no way I was old enough to buy a ticket to these films, but I could read all about them in my new favorite publication. This was also when I began my five-year run as Freddy Krueger for Halloween. They were simpler times back then, no Jack Sparrows in sight...you wore a monster mask, damn it, or you got your candy stolen.
But back to my story...My dad was a horror fan from way back, he had his Famous Monsters, and I had Fango. He would rent me all the old Universal stuff and everything Vincent Price was in, and also whatever new slasher/gore flick I had read about. It quickly became our new favorite pastime. Thank you, FANGORIA. Happy 30th.

Lyn-Z & Gerard Way Welcome Baby Girl Into The World...
Mindless Self Indulgence bassist Lyn-Z and her husband, My Chemical Romance vocalist and comic book writer Gerard Way, welcomed a baby girl into the world yesterday afternoon.
Their daughter, Bandit Lee Way, was born in Los Angeles at 2:57 P.M. on May 27th and weighs 6 lbs., 5.6 oz. "Everyone is healthy and happy." Says a rep for the couple.
Gerard said he is "very excited" about fatherhood, adding: "I don't know that I ever thought about having a kid, but then I also didn't expect to meet Lyn-Z. When I met her I knew she'd be the one person I could have a kid with."
Lyn-Z and Gerard were married in September 2007 after MCR and MSI toured together on Linkin Park's Projekt Revolution. They announced the pregnancy in November. This is their first child.

WATCHMEN DVD EXTRAS!
Watchmen fans who paid to see Zack Snyder’s movie and found some of their favorite bits from the comic missing are in for a something special. Warner Bros. has just announced the movie’s DVD and Blu-Ray debut, and they’re releasing it with even more footage. You can get the standard theatrical version, but the Blu-ray and 2-Disc Special Edition of the film will contain a 25-minute longer director’s cut of the film. Gerard Way Talks About Dallas, the Umbrella Movie & More
The Umbrella Academy, by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, hit the comics scene in 2007 like a psychotropic bomb. Dominated by offbeat characters, nonlinear storytelling, and art resembling a vivid acid flashback, the first miniseries, Apocalypse Suite, won the Eisner Award for Best Limited Series in 2008 and was wildly popular, to boot. Fortunately, hungry fans just got to feast on The Umbrella Academy: Dallas, the second miniseries, which just released issue #6 on May 13.

I've just found an interesting interview with Eliza Cuts, Gerard's former fiance where she speaks out 'for the first time,' about her relationship with Gerard.
"While still in school in 2002, Eliza met someone who would dominate her life for the next 4-5 years. In her own words, “It started hard and it ended hard.” She met Gerard Way at one of My Chemical Romance's first shows. They began to met up at different shows and venues and eventually became friends. The very first time they met, Eliza was at the merchandise table, looking over the t-shirts, and Gerard came up to her and was talking about the designs on the shirts because she thought that he might have designed some of them. He was drinking back then, was pretty intoxicated and really needed some deodorant and a shower. Popular singer reprises role for Blu-ray release through tie-up song with Gerard Way.
Square Enix announced today that it will be using Kyosuke Himuro and Gerard Way's "Safe and Sound" as the ending theme song for Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete. The Blu-ray re-release of the 2005 Final Fantasy VII follow up CG flick will be released domestically on April 16.
Safe and Sound is a collaboration between the two artists, Himuro a solo performer now in his 20th year on his own, and Way the lead vocalist for My Chemical Romance. According to a statement from Square Enix today, the two worked together on vocals and production in what would be Way's first song away from his band. The song is exclusively in English. GERARD NAMES UMBRELLA ACADEMY SCREENWRITER
Gerard Way has named the screenwriter linked to the movie of his comic series 'The Umbrella Academy'.
As previously reported, Universal Pictures have fast-tracked a big screen adaptation of the My Chemical Romance star's award-winning superhero comic.
Now, speaking to Collider, Way has revealed the man who is set to pen the script: He said: "There's a screenwriter, a great screenwriter named Mark Bomback - and he is the guy we'd love to do it." Bomback's previous credits include 'Live Free Or Die Hard' (released as 'Die Hard 4.0' in the UK) as well as 'Deception' and the forthcoming 'Return To Witch Mountain'. READ MORE AT NME.COM
Photographer Chris Anthony has used Gerard Way in his latest photography project, titled 'Venice.'
'Venice,' is on display at the Corey Helford Gallery in LA and features photographs of Gerard along with actress Jacinda Barrett, artist Mercedes Helnwein and Geard's wife Lindsey.

In 2006, following the success of Green Day's majestically produced concept record American Idiot, MCR's similarly ambitious project The Black Parade became one of the year's most highly rated.

There's plenty of action in My Chemical Romance's brand-new video for "Desolation Row," the Bob Dylan song they covered for Zack Snyder's hotly anticipated "Watchmen" film. Unfortunately, they seem to be on the losing end of most of it. You can read the full article HERE
My Chemical Romance has made a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Desolation Row” which will be featured on the soundtrack for the movie “The Watchmen.” The soundtrack is going to be released on March 3, 2009 so mark your calendars and get ready to see what MCR has in store for you.
Also, the Watchmen Music Collectors Edition 7” Box Set will be released on March 24th. The box set contains 7 double-sided 7” picture discs of each Watchmen character on one side, and images in the likeness of the graphic novel on the other. The Watchmen Music Collectors Edition 7" Box Set will include My Chemical Romance's "Desolation Row," along with 13 tracks by Tyler Bates.

FAN TATTOO ON LA INK
You may remember the tattoo program LA Ink for once featuring Frank Iero, well now it features a fan getting an MCR tattoo.
The person getting the tattoo is a guy called Frank who plays trumpet in a marching band and wanted a tattoo to represent that.

It has indeed been a while since I have been able to blog on here, which upsets me as I would look forward to doing it everyday, sometimes multiple times a day, and about various subjects of varying levels of stupidity.
But today, marking my return to the blogosphere (is that the term?) I have something a little more important, and while I've done a pretty conscious job of keeping my comic and the band separate, today I'm posting about an auction for a limited Umbrella Academy signed hardcover, with an inked sketch I did of Spaceboy.
This auction is for a friend battling cancer and there are other auctions tied to this one, including some really rare MSI cd's, and some original art by my wonderful wife that appeared in the Projekt Revolution "Revolution Unseen" art book.
So I'm going to put a link here and hopefully it works, if it does not just search Ebay for "Umbrella Academy" and you will find it...

Non Concept Album?!
My Chemical Romance Get To Work On Non-Concept Album, Sort Of 'We've made concepts for three albums now, so I think this one ... I want to go into it not thinking about a definite story,' frontman Gerard Way says.
"You know, we've made concepts for three albums now, so I think this one — at least from my standpoint — I want to go into it not thinking about a definite story. I said that during Parade, but I still think I had something to work out," he said. "I think I had to get it out of my system, as far as writing concept records. I had to at least do one more before I stopped doing them. Obviously, they'll always be cohesive though. The songs need to fit together, that's what makes a great album."
Way added that rather than focusing on a concept, he and the band are keeping it much simpler this time around — they're just focusing on writing really killer, really loud rock songs. READ MORE AT MTV.COM

Watchmen Shoot In L.A.
A mob scene was filmed in downtown Los Angeles this week, but it’s not what you might think
There’s been a rumor going around that Watchmen had filmed a scene on the 19th at the intersection of Broadway and West 8th Street in Los Angeles.
According to eyewitnesses the scene was quite elaborate and included more than 250 angry extras rushing out of a building and into the street before someone was chased by police dogs and arrested. Some exterior dialog was also shot.
So what’s the story? Well, our sources at Warner Bros. confirmed that, yes, the filming is in fact for Watchmen, but it's not for re-shoots for the film, or for any DVD extras.
It turns out that the shoot was for the music video of My Chemical Romance’s version of Bob Dylan’s “Desolation Row” — the song being used for the Watchmen film’s closing credits.
That’s not all. It also seems the the music video’s director is none other than Watchmen movie helmer Zack Snyder.
The building that sits at that L.A. intersection is 802 South Broadway, which has been used as a location for several movies including The Prestige, Mulholland Drive and Mambo Kings.
Gerard recently spoke to Comic Book Resource about The Umbrella Academy: Dallas. There are also some clips from the Golden Apple Signing.

A rep for the singer says Way, 31, and wife Lindsey, bass player of the band Mindless Self Indulgence, are expecting their first child. The baby is due early in the summer 2009.

Frontman Gerard Way told NME magazine: "I have a lot of time to write right now. It may just be two months and then we might end up getting inspired and a record just spills out of us real quick.

Seven heirs to Ozzy Osbourne!
Gerard appears in the IDOLATOR.COM list of seven heirs to Ozzy Osbourne's throne.
In one sense, Way is a no-brainer; he's the closest thing to a goth rock star we've got these days, someone who dresses in skeleton-themed outfits and writes rock operas about death. But he also comes off a bit too much like the wholesome kid from New Jersey he probably really is to have any real mystique. And when the British press denounced his band and the emo movement as a whole as a "death cult that encourages kids to self-harm," Way vehemently disagreed with that assessment, which speaks well of him as a person, but kind of blows his P.O.D. credentials. Plus, the photo at left clearly states that he is a princess.

Comics get red-carpet treatment at Spike TV Scream Awards For the moment, though, there is no end in sight, and Gerard Way, lead singer of the rock band My Chemical Romance, said the sector would thrive not only because of its commercial viability but also because of the nature of its creative community right now. Way writes "The Umbrella Academy," an acclaimed graphic-novel series for Dark Horse Comics, which he says has been approved by Universal to be a film as soon as 2010.
"The people that are making these movies are coming to it with a love of the comics and a respect for them, and I think that's why the fans are so passionate about these movies," Way said. "It comes down to the fact that for the first time, it's fans who are making these movies, and that makes all the difference in the world. James Jean Blog Entry!
James Jean, who I believe helped draw the Black Parade artwork, recently posted a new blog about a comemerative plate he recieved from the band.
My Chemical Romance went triple platinum with their Black Parade album, so they sent me this insane, elaborately produced commemorative plaque. All the elements in the frame are layered and die-cut for a shallow relief effect. You can see the blog and image at PROCESSRECESS.COM

If you can cast your minds back you may remember My Chemical Romance being on Stephanie Meyers playlist for the Twilight book.
However My Chemical Romance don't appear on the movie's official tracklisting.

Bad news I'm afraid. The forums have broken due to me trying to upgrade them and failing miserably. All posts have been lost and the forums are looking aweful at the moment.

It was confirmed previously that Mikey Way was to work on Halloween comic for DC Comics. The official DC website have uploaded the cover art and addition information for the comic and it is available for pre-order now!

Frank Iero recently took part in an interview where he talks about his other band Leathermouth. This interview took place after the Leathermouth show in in Buffalo on September 6th.
Also, rumour has it that Leathermouth have signed with Epitaph records.
Starling Electric!
You might find this a little weird that I'm giving you news about a band other than MCR/Leathermouth, but I promise this is connected!
It seems the band 'Starling Electric' have a song called 'The Black Parade.' Starling Electric were recently interviewed by Metromix Detroit where they were asked about the song title and if it had any connection with My Chemical Romance.
Caleb Dillon, frontman for the Ann Arbor–based band Starling Electric, has a sense of humor that could best be described as bone-dry. No matter how hard we try to be sarcastic in our questions with him, he can’t be topped. When we asked, for example, if the band’s song “The Black Parade” has any connection to the My Chemical Romance album of the same name, he deadpans, “Yes. We're best friends with them…we hang out all the time.”

Kerrang! magazine has revealed the roster of bands earmarked for its 2008 compilation CD.
Kerrang! The Album 2008 hits the shelves on September 29th and features chart successes such as Kid Rock, Nickelback and Weezer alongside metal heavyweights such as Slipknot, Killswitch Engage and Atreyu.
Classic cuts from Green Day and My Chemical Romance are included, as well as new efforts from Funeral For A Friend, Kids In Glass Houses and You Me At Six.

Hey guys,
Gerard here... I'm hanging out with Mikey in New Jersey, relaxing, drinking coffee, talking comics, and getting ready to take a drive down south tomorrow. I don't know what states I'm passing through but I know where I'm heading. Don't worry I've got a the Clockwork Orange audiobook, a Dr. Pepper air-freshener, and a GPS so I don't get lost. We figured b now everyone that's a fan of the band might be wondering what we're up to, what we're planning, so I thought I'd write this letter and fill you all in.
We're living, decompressing- The Black Parade took over two years to tour and six months to make so that's a lot of existing in a fictional world, and we're just extremely happy to live in a real one for a while. One thing I can let you know is that we're excited. Genuinely more excited then we have ever been to be in this band, make some new music. Genuinely more excited then we have ever been in this band, make some new music. And we have ALL been writing new material in our own separate worlds... I started a week after I got home, buying a good rig, an old Jag, and a bunch of pedals- just searching for the next sound.
Bob is recovering well from his recent wrist surgery- exceedingly well considering how risky the procedure can be. We're all really happy that when he picks up the sticks again he won't be in the intense pain he was in during the last year of touring. It's going to take him a while to rehabilitate but know him, he will most likely be playing the drums before the doctor says it's a good idea. He just loves playing, we all do. Franks on the road with Leathermouth and Reggie and The Full Effect so you should go see them and get spit on. I know Leathermouth doesn't have a record out yet, but Frank gave it to me in Mexico and I can easily say it's my favorite post-hardcore record of the year, so I know you will at least enjoy the songs if you don't know the words.
One of the best parts of the last five months was getting to see Ray get married and all of us be a part of the wedding. It was beautiful. I'm not sure where the happy couple is right now but I am sure wherever they are, they are really enjoying it. I have never seen him happier in my life. So we made plans to get together soon and make some demos, see where our heads are at, take it slow. If explosions happen in our heads right away who knows how soon we could have a record out, we aren't in any rush but we get just as anxious as you to find out what the next "thing is going to be.
So that about wraps it up... I'm glad I could stop by for a chat, I think I will do it more often. I'm writing more comics, writing more music, and missing my wife right now. Oh, and I heard a rumor that I died in a car accident.
I didn't.

Interview with Gerard Way!
My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way: 'I Think We Needed To Be Away For A While' Singer says band will 'take it slow' with 'stripped-down' Black Parade follow-up.
Last month, MTV News broke the news that New Jersey's own My Chemical Romance would be recording a cover of Bob Dylan's "Desolation Row" for Zack Snyder's forthcoming "Watchmen" film and that the song would be the soundtrack's first single when it hits stores this winter. That's cool and all, but what about the band's next studio effort? When can we expect that gem?
Well, not for a long while. See, My Chemical Romance have spent much of the last few years in promotional mode — touring, doing press interviews, shooting videos, etc. At the moment, they're in what frontman Gerard Way dubbed "go live" mode: They've all put MCR on the backburner as they pursue outside interests.
Of course, Way's been working on his comic book series, "The Umbrella Academy," and is penning a top-secret project for DC Comics. Meanwhile, his brother, Mikey Way, is also working on a comic book, Frank Iero is starting a new band called Leathermouth, Ray Toro is busy getting married and helming his Weezer cover band, and Bob Bryar, well, he's in Chicago for some unspecified reason. The point is, My Chemical Romance need to live like the rest of us for a bit before they return to the studio.
"We can't make any more music unless we live," Way explained. "But I'm already starting to get the ideas and the aesthetics and everything, and it's very different from [2006's] The Black Parade."
How so, Gerry?
"It's hard to say at this point, but musically, how Black Parade tapped into the glam, classic rock of Queen and Ziggy Stardust, this taps into something different — not punk, but maybe in its proto sense. The aesthetic — it is extremely different, and it is more stripped-down too. When we get a chance, we're going to get together and do some demos and start rolling. But we're going to take it slow. I feel like we needed to be away for a while. People need to kind of miss us because there was a point in the last two-and-a-half years where you could have seen us at least once a month if you wanted."
Way elaborated on the album's sound, contradicting recent reports that the band is moving in a more punk direction. "It's weird — sometimes you give interviews, and they catch you in a weird mood on the road, and you're like, 'Nah, I didn't say it was going to be a more punk-rock record, I just thought it would be more stripped of the bells and whistles,' " he explained. "But I think the concepts will always be progressive.
"It will be more direct, more about life, and have more social commentary in there," Way continued. "That's where it's kind of heading now. It won't be a 'boohoo' record about 'Oh, we got famous,' but a commentary on how the world is now."
Today is the 4th anniversary of Gerards sobriety. Congrats!

Bob Bryar - Movie star!
It appears that Bob sneakily appeared in a movie called 'Oh My Dear Desire,' back in 2003. He is listed in the CAST LIST as the character 'By Terah.'
This is the very same Bob Bryar from My Chemical Romance as you can view his IMDB profile page HERE or by clicking on his name in the cast list.

THE CURE REMIX, GUARDIAN GUIDE
Julien-K & Gerard to remix The Cure!
According to a blog post on Julien-Ks Myspace by Amir, Julien-K is remixing the new Cure single with Gerard. The song has to be turned in on monday and it is for charity but it is unknown whether or not Gerard is contributing vocals.
Heres what the blog said:
We just started a remix of the Cure's new single "Sleep When I'm Dead" with Gerard of My Chem. It has to be turned in Monday so expect to hear it very soon.
All the proceeds of the sale of this single will be going to Amnesty International.
The Guardian Guide
There is a piece in yesterdays Guardian about Comic-con which is entitled 'The Nerd Herd.' A section of the article talks about Gerard and TUA, there is also a picture of Gerard.
The jewel in the crown are Friday night's prestigious Eisner Awards, the industry's Oscars. This year's surprise winner, was My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way's dysfunctional superhero saga The Umbrella Academy, picking up Best Limited Series for its first run - a sweet vindication after more than a few eyebrows were raised when he started the project with illustrator Gabriel Ba.
"A lot of people were probably thinking, 'He's not much of an underdog any more, he's a rock star now so this is easy for him,'" says Gerard. "So I got to be an underdog all over again. I didn't have it easy."
Deified in his day job, Gerard used to be able to walk around these things pretty much invisible. Now, all that's changed.
"At first I would just go to comic conventions and just walk around. Now I make that difficult for myself because I write comics. But it's so good to have a book that was appreciated. Acceptance was optional, I wanted the work to be appreciated."
