Matt Cortez was originally the guitar tech for Frank Iero and he even took his place at certain shows on The Black Parade tour when he became sick.

Matt was made MCR's temporary bass player, he replaced Mikey Way who had gotten married and took a break from the band to go on his honeymoon and spend time with his new wife.

Matt began filling in for Mikey in April 2007.

James Dewees of the band Reggie and the Full Effect is the current touring keyboardist for The Black Parade tour.

James appears in full Black Parade uniform like the other five members, leading some to believe he is a permanent member of the band, although he does not appear in the MCR portion of the show.
